Good with dogs: Yes, with proper intros Good with cats: Yes Good with kids: Yes Crate trained: No House trained: Working on it Age: 2 years Weight: 11 lbs. Apollo is a happy little guy who is partially paralyzed from mid back down. Don't worry though, that doesn't get him down at all! He's still a little ball of energy who is spunky and absolutely loves to scoot around, chase after mini tennis balls and play with as many toys as possible. He entertains himself quite easily but is always happy to snooze the afternoon away snuggling with his human companions. He's quite charming and loves to stick out his tongue almost all day long! Apollo loves almost every single dog he's met and has been fostered with and lived with a cat down South! He prefers smaller dogs of any energy level, but also does well around bigger dogs who are more mellow. As soon as he realizes they don't pose a threat of running him over, he'll be their best friend. He also loves every human and kid he's met so far. Apollo is currently enrolled in a Boston based physical therapy program twice a week to help work on mobility via spinal walking and to help him gain muscle mass in his back legs. He is working hard every single week both in PT and at home, exercising as much as possible and learning to "walk" on grass, as he has the best footing possible outside. He gets around really easily on certain surfaces such as rugs, carpet and foam mats, but struggles to grip hardwood floors and tile. While Apollo doesn't have full control over his bowels, he can be both stimulated to urinate/defecate but most importantly needs his bladder to be fully expressed multiple times a day to keep UTI's from forming. When he is properly expressed he can be 100% diaper and belly band free in his foster's home! Apollo is looking for someone who can continue to offer physical therapy twice a week for at least the next 6-8 months, someone who is patient and willing to learn his routine and willing to learn how to express his bladder. He'd love to be with someone who has the ability to give him multiple potty breaks a day, whether that means they work from home, work part-time, are retired, or can hire/find someone to give him multiple potty breaks a day! Name: Bagel (Female) Breed: Pit Bull Mix Adoptable in: MA, RI, NH, CT, and VT Good with dogs: Yes, with proper intros Good with cats: Unknown Good with kids: Unknown Crate trained: Mostly House trained: Mostly Bagel is such a sweet girl! She loves being around people and cuddling. She enjoys playing with other dogs and would do well with a dog with a similarly high energy level. She enjoys running around the back yard, going on walks, and snuggling up on the couch! Bagel would do well in a home with someone who enjoys being outdoors and going on walks! She walks pretty well on the leash, but does pull slightly. She might be too energetic for younger children and could use a little more work on her manners. Bagel will sometimes go in the crate willingly for a treat and other times she needs a bit more encouragement. She whines for less than five minutes when she first goes in, however, and sleeps in there all night with no accidents. She is mostly house trained, but may have the occasional accident when uncrated for long periods. Bagel will make a wonderful companion! Please Note: All dogs currently available for adoption are posted on our website. If you cannot find a particular dog on our website, he/she may be on a temporary foster hold. All dogs are otherwise posted until they are officially adopted. This dog may have other interested adopters in line. If you are interested in adopting, please fill out an application. show less

She has not been crated much but she has done well in every situation she has been in. She does suffer from arthritis and takes meds every evening to keep her comfortable. Bailey is puppy pad trained. She does have accidents sometimes as she does not alert you when she needs to go outside, but she does her business once there. She would be a great addition to a family with older children, or for a single or elderly person. She has not been exposed to cats but with the way she has interacted with the dogs in her foster home, she would likely be fine with them. She likes to be right with you everywhere you walk and will make a fantastic companion! Please Note: All dogs are posted until they are officially adopted. Good with dogs: Yes, with proper intros Good with cats: Yes Good with kids: No Crate trained: Yes House trained: Yes Bear is very sweet and is a loving dog. He listens well and wants to please, although he occasionally slips up and tries to steal food that’s within reach. He is very motivated and loves treats (he’s great at catching them, too!) Bear is can be reactive toward new dogs or people, so he would love to find a home where his family will facilitate slow introductions to them. He has lived with dogs and cats and loves them - his perfect home would have some friends to keep him company. He requires consistent work for introductions to new people and it may take several attempts for him to warm up, but once he has decided he likes you, you’re his best friend! He loves to be outside with room to run and play, and loves a good car ride. He is leash/halti/muzzle trained and responds well to them when out in public. He doesn’t mind being in his crate and has never had an accident in the house. His perfect owner will be willing to work with/train him to get him socialized and to overcome his reactive behaviors. They must also be willing to share the couch (he loves to snuggle!) Please Note: All dogs are posted until they are officially adopted. This dog may have other interested adopters in line. Name: Edie (Female) Breed: Mixed Breed Adoptable in: MA, RI, NH, CT, and VT Good with dogs: Yes, with proper intros Good with cats: Unknown, likely no Good with kids: Yes, older children Crate trained: Yes House trained: Yes Edie is a very sweet and sassy lady looking for a single family home where she can love and be loved on by her humans. She is a devoted, and loyal dog who will melt your heart and is equally happy playing with her humans exerting her energy or cuddling on her dog bed relaxing. She is crate trained, house trained, and incredibly affectionate. She would benefit from a home with someone who has the time and knowledge to provide her with the proper training and the structure she needs. She learns quickly but is stubborn and not afraid to be sassy about it. Edie is looking for a strong handler who is willing to continue working on her leash reactivity so she can politely walk past other dogs in public. She is a medium to high energy dog, and would love a yard where she can privately burn her energy and play with her humans distraction free. Due to a knee surgery, Edie has a quirky gait, but it has never slowed her down!  While Edie is able to interact with some dogs on structured walks and in small controlled play sessions, she loves to get all of her humans attention and as a result would prefer to be an only pet. When excited she likes to express herself using her mouth and would do best in a home without younger children. She is a wonderful companion and she can't wait to find her perfect furever home!  Age: 2 years Weight: 35 lbs. Please Note: All dogs are posted until they are officially adopted. Heavens Tabetsy

Good with dogs: Yes Good with cats: No Good with kids: No Crate trained: Yes House trained: Mostly Heavens Tabetsy (who goes by “Tabby”) is one of the sweetest and most affectionate dogs you will ever meet. She is also one of the shyest, as she gets very scared around new people and places. Tabby’s first instinct is to run away from what she is scared of, but if that is not an option, she will freeze and occasionally go to the bathroom out of fear. However, once she is comfortable with you, Tabby acts like a normal playful puppy and will shower you with kisses and cuddles! Tabby takes a few days to warm up to a new person and about a week to become fully comfortable. She gets very attached to her people and tries to stay as close as possible around the house. Tabby does need to be in a home with no kids or kids 16+. She loves attention and will remind you with some hilariously uncoordinated pawing! Tabby is very playful and absolutely loves other pups! She is most comfortable around other dogs, and she will need a home with at least one confident pup to help show her the ropes. When she is not playing, Tabby is very calm inside and will relax next to her person or in her crate. The crate is her safe space and she is always happy to spend time there. Tabby is fully leash trained and is looking for an adopter who will continue to expose her to new situations. She might never warm up immediately to new people, but she is already making great progress learning that the world is not so scary! Tabby is a special girl, and if you give her time to warm up, the affection and gratitude she gives in return will make you fall madly in love. Age: 3 years Weight: 50 lbs. Name: Lilac (Female) Breed: Pointer mix Adoptable in: MA, RI, NH, CT, and VT Good with dogs: Yes, with proper intros Good with cats: No Good with kids: No Crate trained: Yes House trained: Yes Lilac is a sweet, lazy girl who is looking for a quiet home where she can play some fetch and then curl up in the dog bed and take a nap (her two favorite things). Lilac is wonderful with other dogs when properly introduced, and she loves to play. She would love a fenced yard to romp in. She can be leash reactive to new dogs, and though she has improved with training, this will always be something she needs to work on. For this reason, proper intros are a must with her.  She is also ecollar trained. so her perfect home would continue this training with her. She excels with structure and routine. Where Lilac still struggles greatly is with meeting new people in the home. Outside the home, and even a the vet, she is generally fine. When people that she does not know very very well come into the home, Lilac should be crated, leashed, or muzzled. She needs to be slowly introduced to new people, but once she gets to know you very very well, she's all in and is the kissiest, snuggliest girl.  She is even very sweet to pretty much everyone while muzzled, so that's an easy fix to keep her safe.  When people she does not know come into the home, she has an angry bark/growl but when introduced while muzzled she does fine.  Because of her reactivity to new people, a single family home is the best fit for her. She would not do well in an apartment. Lilac has had a long road, and while she has come a long way, she is very much still a work in progress. With the right family she will do just fine. Lilac's issues have happened in the past when her intros to new people coming into the home were not controlled (once, my contractor came in my back door while we were in the living room, and another time, my dog walker let her out of her crate after I advised her not to). So I can't emphasize enough that she needs to take it slow with new people :) But she will reward you for sure once you get to know her. Good with dogs: No Good with cats: No Good with kids: Older kids only 16+ Crate trained: Unknown House trained: Yes Do you enjoy spending time with "your people"? So does Poppy! She's selective about who she allows in her crew, but once you're in Poppy's club, you have VIP access for life. This girl is incredibly loving, snugly, loyal, goofy, and fun. She's down for whatever you're feeling that day, whether it's a nap in the sun or a hike in the woods. She's always there to keep you company, whatever the activity. Poppy's house manners and obedience are 10/10. How many dogs can be eye level with a steak while you're in the other room and not even bat an eye? Although she is crate trained, she has also proven herself trustworthy of being left alone. Looking for a walking or running companion? Poppy keeps whatever pace you set. And have no fear of running at night, Poppy is always ready to protect "her person". She thrives best in a one-dog home, outside of highly trafficked areas. She loves to watch the birds and squirrels, but can be anxious if there are a lot of passing humans or cars. Ideally, her people will be "homebodies" similar to her, without too many guests coming and going. Poppy thrives on routine, as most creatures do. Give this girl a stable, loving home, and she will reward you tenfold with her endless love and cuddles. Age: 4 years 8 mo Weight: 55 lbs. Good with dogs: Yes Good with cats: Unknown Good with kids: Older kids only, 16+ Crate trained: Unknown House trained: No Rowan is a sweet girl with lots of energy. She loves to run and play with other dogs. Rowan is skeptical of strangers, especially when new people are entering her home, so she requires an adopter that will be patient with her and advocate for her needs (slow introductions to strangers in a controlled environment). She is slower to warm up to men than women, however, once Rowan knows you, she wants all the love and snuggles! Rowan does well on leash but shouldn’t be left unattended in fenced in areas because she has tried to dig in the past – she does great when supervised. She would love a home with room for her to run and play. Rowan’s perfect home would be female-centric, fairly calm, and experienced working with dogs that have “stranger danger.” She is thriving in her foster home and is looking for a family of her own so she can continue to shine.
